Omid, an Iranian refugee who set himself on fire on Nauru, died in a Brisbane hospital on 28 April.
The Omid Memorial Fund was set up by the Refugee Action Coalition and Mums For Refugees to raise money to provide some support for Omid’s wife and his family.
While money is no longer needed to send Omid’s body home, and no amount of money can compensate for the loss of Omid, the fund will raise money to provide for the family and show that there are people who do care.
