Asylum seekers and refugees continue their protest on Nauru – for the fortieth day. This day focussed on Omid.
Chants rang out: We only want freedom; Shut Down Offshore; Transfield, Transfield, shame on you;
It was also the day, that Omid, suffering extreme burns, waited more than 24 hours for a medivac flight to Brisbane. At around 4pm on Wednesday, Peter Dutton told a press conference that a medivac flight would come for Omid “later tonight” . He meant “tomorrow morning” .
